Hotel Oban

The Oyster Inn and Gluepot Bar is situated in the village of Connel, five miles from Oban

The oldest part of the building dates to the 18th century when it was known as the Ferryman's Inn due to the proximity to the ferry carrying passengers between Connel and North Lorn, now replaced with Connel bridge towering over the famous Falls of Lora tidal waterfall. Licensing laws in Scotland banned drinking in public houses on Sundays, but locals could be served in an Inn or Hotel if they were "bona fide travellers". The Oyster Inn is now a popular hotel, restaurant, and pub, offering comfortable rooms and serving delicious Scottish pub food with views of Loch Etive and the Falls of Lora.

The original stone walls have been stripped back to reveal the bones of this, the oldest part of the building. You will find a vast selection of drinks and beers. During the winter months relax by the open fire. To the rear, there is a sheltered beer garden.
